Sterling Bay acquired an 85,000 square foot office property formerly occupied by the research and development division of Motorola's mobile phone unit. The property sits on 13 acres in the village of Mundelein, which is approximately 30 miles northwest of Chicago. During the initial due-diligence period, Sterling Bay was approached by Sysmex, one of the leading manufacturers of blood and urine testing equipment in the world, regarding converting the facility into their North American headquarters. Working closely with senior management and Sysmex consultants, Sterling Bay was able to design, construct and move Sysmex into the facility in under 4 months.
